I’m studying how to blog ‘properly’ and I am perplexed.

The first thing I read is ‘keep your blogs short’ and ‘don’t use long paragraphs’.

As you will gather from other posts I am a great believer in intellectualism. Not necessarily professor-level insight, just the ability to hold a cogent thought and to express oneself in sentences which exclude the words ‘sort of’ and ‘obviously’ wherever possible. Which is arguably always.

It would explain some Facebook entries like ‘Off to bed!’, quoted like that is somehow interesting. Well it’s not. Consider yourself unwelcome if you think it is.

So in my view, keeping things overly short means pandering to the world’s thinking that our attention span is now shorter than that of a goldfish, whereas we should all be fighting that concept.

Ironically, that is all.
